About The Event
Lights up on new Jerusalem, 2025. After a series of failed attempts at providing their own salvation, Cain and Able-- different in life experiences, mindset and shade of skin-- realize the violent assignment that has been thrust upon them and decide to take matters into their own hands. This meta-theatrical poetic exploration poses questions about destiny, faith and the audacity of hope in an uncertain world.
Blood of Adam, a new play written by Cris Eli Blak and Alric Davis will make its world-premiere as a ticketed preview workshop event as a part of Sankofa Reading Series in which an audience can contribute to the developmental process of a new work. This play uses spoken word poetry and Hip Hop to place a contemporary spin on the story of Cain and Abel.
